3 Minimalist Affirmations for Uncertain Times
Whew! Y’all it’s been an interesting few weeks on this rollercoaster called the “Coronavirus Pandemic”. Constant updates and changes, uncertainty about the future, it’s a lot! I have been experiencing waves of anxiety, irregular sleep, anger, and hopelessness, but also I’ve been meditating regularly, doing yoga, taking walks, making art, and reading. In sum, I’m trying to find balance in the midst of this all. I’m also reminding myself of these three simple truths when things get rough and I wanted to share them with you.
I AM ENOUGH.
Though many changes are happening within and around me, I am still whole, even when I may not feel like it. I am worthy of care and support, just as I am. I have the power to define and redefine myself in light of my changing circumstances.
I DO ENOUGH.
I do what I need to maintain my mental and physical health. I give myself grace and space to feel, to rest, and to simply be. I understand what I’m experiencing right now is unique and I can adjust my daily routine accordingly.
I HAVE ENOUGH.
I have everything I need and that is essential to my well-being. I can acquire what I need should my circumstances change. I can share my resources and knowledge with others without fear or feelings of lack.
I hope you’re finding some calm and settling into a routine that feels good for you, but it’s okay not to feel settled, to acknowledge the anxiety, to not want to do anything. Take your time to figure out what you need and want during these times, connect with others who love and support you, and focus on your health and safety. Use the three mantras above whenever needed to help you find a moment of clarity.
